| Game Summary |
| For three quarters, it looked like these two teams didn't belong on the floor together. It looked very much like a guaranteed playoff team thrashing a team that doesn't know whether to try and fight for a playoff spot, or to tank it and hope for a high lottery pick. The Lakers looked absolutely unstoppable, and the Nets had no answers defensively. But sometime in the fourth quarter, it seemed like something clicked in the heads of the Nets players. Most of them, high-priced veterans on the last year of their contracts. Chances are, this is it for them as a unit. If they want any hope of the playoffs and much less a championship, it has to be now. And in the fourth, they played like they were hungry. They finally made some defensive stops on Pierce and Garnett, and they attacked the rim. They picked up a much-needed win on their home court, and fought to stay alive in the hunt for the eighth seed in the East. |
